Hypnosis Explained

What is Hypnosis? 

Hypnosis is simply a state of deep relaxation that bypasses the conscious mind thereby opening up your subconscious mind to accepting positive suggestions that can improve your life. This allows you to make the  behavorial changes that you desire. 

When in a state of hypnosis, you remain aware of everything that is happening and have complete control of all your actions. You are actually in a hyper-attentive state of mind, your senses become very acute. You are able to come out of hypnosis any time you choose. 

During the process of hypnosis, tensions and pressures will ease. Your concentration and mental alertness are heightened. Contrary to popular belief, you are never unconscious or in a sleep state during hypnosis. You are mentally more alert and the sounds around you can even seem louder than usual because your hearing can become hypersensitive. 

Although many believe that they cannot be hypnotized, people have been hypnotizing themselves since the beginning of time. Everyone does it, every day, all the time. Think about the last time you daydreamed, watched a movie, read a book or drove your car. When you get lost in your thoughts, you evoke a so-called trance state. We can become so involved with our activities that we can literally block out all stimuli around us, thus inducing “environmental hypnosis”. 

Being hypnotized is natural and normal. It is also imaginative, relaxing and fun. Imagine if we didn’t have our favorite television show, favorite author or a favorite hobby to enjoy? People use these entertainments to have pleasure, to escape and to relax. We also completely become immersed in our activities so much so that we shut ourselves off from everything else going on, giving our complete and undivided attention to that single source of stimulus. Imagine using that power of focus to channel positive suggestions for self-improvement and self-empowerment? That is what hypnosis can do for you.
