Why and How it Works

Who's the Boss?

You may think it is your conscious mind, the one who seems to have the most opinions, voice, judgment and reasons for what you do, the one that seems awake and always around.

However, you may be surprised to learn that it is our subconscious or unconscious mind that is really in control. Your subconscious mind is the boss of you because it occupies 88% of your total mental power while your conscious mind only controls 12%. Imagine or visualize a glacier. You can see a small part above the surface. It looks massive, doesn’t it? And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! Now, imagine or visualize that the bulk of the glacier is below the surface, the part you can’t see. That is conceptually how the power of your mind is organized.

So, which do you think is going to win when you are trying to change a behavior, the rational conscious mind with only 12% or the subconscious mind with 88% of your mental power?

Our habits and behaviors are, for the most part, automatic. We accomplish a majority of our daily activities and behaviors without even thinking about them. We learned these behaviors which are ingrained into our subconscious mind, so much so, that when our conscious mind wants to change them, it becomes a battle of wills, even when the change will benefit us. Sometimes, no matter how hard we try, we can’t seem to follow through when we want to break a habit or other behavior that we feel is inhibiting us from reaching our full potential.

When the client is in the hypnotic state the hypnotherapist bypasses the conscious mind and works directly with the subconscious where fears, emotions, thoughts, fellings, habits, self-image and behaviors reside. the client remains awake and is aware of everything that is being said. The client is in control at all times.

The Role of Hypnotherapy.

Hypnotherapy can give you the power to make to positive, lasting change. The hypnotic state allows you to bypass the conscious mind and go right to the root of an issue, located in the subconscious mind, where undesirable behaviors, thoughts and emotions are neutralized by introducing alternative, positive behaviors, thoughts and emotions. We get the 12% of conscious mind and 88% of the subconscious mind working in harmony so you get the results you want.

Each of us is unique, so the time frame for positive change varies from person to person. Sometimes changes take immediate effect and some take more time. Hypnosis is known to be very effective in many areas of self-improvement, eliminating fears and phobias, decreasing pain perception, increasing relaxation, stress reduction, smoking cessation, weight loss, improving sports performance, building self-confidence, past life regression and overall personal empowerment.
